Below you will find brief descriptions of the ministries, organizations and groups within the parish. Our hope is that you will seriously consider utilizing this means of committing your time and talent to the life of our parish. Our goal is to enable each person in the parish to commit to at least one ministry, service or organization.

CONSULTATIVE BODIES
Members of Parish Pastoral Council are appointed for a three year term. Membership is open to those aged high school and above. Meetings are held five times a year.
Members of Parish Finance Council are appointed because of some expertise in the field of business, finance or administration.
Meetings are held approximately nine times a year.
PASTORAL LIFE AND WORSHIP
Sacristans assist those responsible for setting up for liturgies, inventorying supplies and maintaining the good order of the sacristy and worship spaces.
Servers are boys and girls in grades 4-12 who fulfill the role of altar server. Training and scheduling are provided by the parish staff.
Adult Choir Members provide talented assistance at our liturgies. Practices are held each week or more frequently when needed.
Children's Choir Members provide talented assistance at our liturgies. Practices are held each week or more frequently when needed.
Bell Choir Members Assist with the music ministry by the use of hand bells. Practice is usually once a week.
Hand Chime Choir Members assist with music ministry by use of hand chimes. Members are grade school children who practice once a week.
Musicians are always needed to assist with liturgical music (this includes the keyboard, guitar, brass, strings, percussion, etc.).
Cantors are needed to begin to lead the congregations in song. The parish director of liturgical music will arrange for practices and scheduling.
Lectors read from the Scriptures at liturgies on Sundays and other times. The parish provides training.
Eucharistic Ministers assist with preparation for Mass and in distributing Holy Communion during Mass and to the sick in their homes or in hospitals.
Ushers / Greeters are men and women who welcome members to our celebrations and assist in seating people at Mass, take up the collection, and help those with special needs during Mass.
Wedding Coordinators work in teams to assist the wedding party at the rehearsal and at the wedding.
EDUCATION AND CHRISTIAN FORMATION
Religious Education Catechists assist as teachers in the religion classes for the youth of our parish (K-8).
Religious Education Aides assist the teachers in the classrooms as needed, making phone calls, preparing snacks, etc. They may include occasionally filling in for the teacher in the event that a substitute is needed.
Substitute Religious Education Catechists are needed when others are unable to fulfill their teaching assignments.
Family Program Aides Assist with quarterly family catechesis program.
Marriage Preparation Team Couples who is assist the parish staff in providing the required instructions for marriage. Chiefly this is done by means of a panel of couples which offer insights and answers questions of couples attending.
R.C.I.A. Team Members share their faith and religious experience with other adults who are preparing to enter the Catholic Church through baptism or full communion.
Youth Ministry Adult Advisors assist the parish Youth Minister and work collaboratively in providing adult leadership to the teens and pre-teens of our parish.
Vocation Bible Camp Workers participate in planning and the actual work of this week-long catechetical program.
COMMUNITY LIFE
Bakers are needed to provide baked goods for various occasions throughout the year.
Health Care Ministry Members assist the parish staff and especially the parish nurse in efforts at health screening and education as well as pastoral care and support of those working in the health care professions.
Respect Life Committee Members are needed to discuss issues related to a greater respect for all life and to work in various projects to put our beliefs into action.
Bereavement Ministry Participants offer support to those who have lost loved ones by visits and programs.
Funeral Luncheon Workers work in teams to assemble and serve post-funeral luncheons to those who request it.
ADMINISTRATION
Occasional Secretarial Assistance is needed when the workload on the regular staff is particularly heavy or during vacations. Work usually involves answering the telephone and secretarial activity such as mailings, stuffing bulletins, etc.
Money Counters are needed to open envelopes and count the collection each weekend (Sunday mornings). This involves several teams so that the work is shared and teams usually only work once a month.
PARISH ORGANIZATIONS AND SOCIETIES
Ladies of Charity are a group of women working with many projects to aid the poor and disadvantaged by spiritual and temporal assistance.
St. Vincent dePaul Society is established as a means of assisting the poor with material needs (for food, furniture, etc.). They meet as a group for prayer and discernment of needs.
Women's Club is open to all women of the parish. Various spiritual, social and educational events are held each month.
Men's Club is a parish organization that seeks to provide the men of the parish an opportunity to socialize with other parishioners, to grow in faith and to work toward achieving parish goals.
Women of Jerusalem a group of women who meet for morning Mass one day a week which is followed by some social activity.
PARISH COMMITTEES
Vocation Awareness Committe works to promote vocations to the ordained ministry and religious life by prayer and parish based programs.
Parish Picnic Committee Members assist in planning the annual parish picnic held each summer.
Heritage Committee Members serve by gathering material and preserving and maintaining the parish archives containing historical artifacts, photographs, newspaper articles, and documents. no special training is needed.
CARE OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
Landscape / Yard Workers are needed for projects around our buildings and property. Planting, pruning, weeding.
